Events
Each year, the Council hosts a variety of events which feature major figures in world affairs. We generally hold up to five public events each month, usually on weekday afternoons or evenings. These events feature a speaker delivering an address after a three-course lunch or dinner, followed by a question and answer session. In addition to these public programs, we also offer several private events each month open only to upper-level members.

Young Professionals
The Council's Young Professionals program provides an affordable option for college students and young professionals who are interested in international affairs. In addition to discounted ticket prices to Council events, the Council's Young Professionals also participate in stand-alone events of their own, including private sessions with notable speakers and topical film screenings. This program cultivates the next generation of civic-minded individuals interested in influencing world affairs.

High School Program
As part of our mission to give back to the City of Los Angeles, the Council is proud to operate a program that allows a limited number of students from local high schools to attend our public programs free of charge. This opportunity, largely funded by the generosity of our donors, also allows the students to sit down for a private Q & A session with our speakers either immediately prior to or immediately following our events.

Internships
The Council actively encourages top local college students who are interested in learning more about world affairs to apply for an internship position. The Council accepts applications for Spring, Summer, and Fall periods each year. Intern duties include assisting with event planning, programming, development, and communications. Interns also get to attend many of our events for free.

Travel Program
The Council's mission is to "bring the world to Los Angeles." Our more adventurous members, however, take advantage of our travel options to see the world for themselves. We partner with a consortium of other World Affairs Councils to provide our members the opportunity to travel on guided tours in virtually every part of the world. These trips often figure VIP-level accomodations, tour guides with deep expertise on the geopolitical issues in the region, and celebrity speakers.
