Please join us as we welcome Former Treasury Secretary and leading economist, Lawrence H. Summers for a livestream conversation on United States post-pandemic economic recovery. Along with serving as the 71st Secretary of  the Treasury in the Clinton Administration, Dr. Summers served as Director of the White House National Economic Council in the Obama Administration, as President of Harvard University, and as the Chief Economist of the World Bank.

The coronavirus pandemic brought global economic shock. As the end of 2020 approaches, what can Americans expect for post-pandemic economic recovery? Dr. Lawrence H. Summers will tackle this question, in conversation with U.S. Bank Senior Vice President and Portfolio Management Managing Director Bill Dolan. The discussion will first address how US markets have shifted over the course of the pandemic due to the stay-at-home orders, high unemployment, and the federal stimulus bills. It will also analyze the challenges to recovery, both domestically with the presidential election and internationally with increasing hostility between the US and China. Finally, Dr. Summers will address what is needed structurally for the nation’s economy to recover, and what we can expect to see within domestic and international markets once the pandemic is over.
