While regions and countries around the globe are beginning to re-open, what is the future for the travel and tourism industries? Since the global outbreak of COVID-19, passenger traffic in the U.S. is down 95%, international passenger revenues are expected to decrease by over $300 billion, and roughly 100 million travel sector jobs have been eliminated or are at risk. While the physical layout of airplanes and the financial model of airline companies pose challenges to the travel & tourism industries, the desire to see the world has only increased over the decades.

On this livestream, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall, in partnership with the World Trade Center Los Angeles, will host interim CEO of Los Angeles World Airports Justin Erbacci; Managing Director of Government Affairs for Delta Dana Debel; and VP & Market General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles and the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. The panel will be moderated by Stephen Cheung, President of WTCLA  and Executive Vice President of LAEDC. The panel will address key questions about the fate of the domestic, regional, and international travel ecosystem. How has LAX been impacted by the pandemic, and what are they doing to adapt their business and economic model for the future? What are airlines doing to plan for a safe future while still staying financially afloat? And when it comes to travel — whether business or leisure — will we see psychological or societal attitude shifts towards flying? Join us live on June 10th at 11 am for the answers to these questions and the chance to ask yours.
