Who are the Young Associates?
We are a group within the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, comprised of young professionals and students under the age of 30. We offer opportunities outside of regular World Affairs Council meetings for young professionals with an interest in international affairs to meet with similar interests and discuss issues affecting our lives and world.
What kind of events do you have?
We organize events every month. Our events range from private screenings, to lectures to drinks with Consuls General. Check out our events page to see what we have scheduled on our calendar! Events are often free, though we occasionally charge to cover event-related expenses.
Who can attend the events?
Anyone who is a member of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council can attend Young Associate events. To hear about future events, send us your name and email address through the link below.

How do I join the Young Associates?
There are several ways to join! You can access the membership application from the Membership tab on the www.lawac.org homepage. You can also call the Membership Director, Candace Lopez, at 213-628-2333 x17, or email her at clopez@lawac.org. Annual membership is $25 for students, $45 for under 30s and $60 for all else.
