Where on earth is Brexit going? Or will it happen at all? Former BBC correspondent Allan Little will talk about Britain’s fraught relationship with Europe and where it might be going at a Global Café Breakfast on Wednesday, March 14. Little, who is now the chair of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, will also talk about his experiences as a BBC correspondent in Paris, Johannesburg, the former Yugoslavia, Moscow and Baghdad. He will also discuss how, as a Scot, he was the main BBC correspondent covering Scotland’s independence referendum in 2014. The referendum was voted down, but with the British government’s future with the EU uncertain, many Scots are talking about re-starting that debate.

Allan Little joined the BBC in 1983, and has won several awards including a Gold Sony Radio Award for Reporter of the Year in 1992, Amnesty International Reporter of the Year in 1992, Bayeux-Calvados Radio War Correspondent of the Year in 1994, a Sony Documentary Gold Award in 2000, and the Grierson Premier TV Documentary Award in 2001.
