Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, will talk to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council over breakfast on August 1st about the ongoing battle over the future of healthcare that has paralyzed Congress and stalled the administration's legislative agenda. He will also talk about the brewing confrontation with North Korea, the administration’s frustration with the lack of action by China on North Korea and the fight against ISIS.

Congressman Royce has been particularly active on North Korea, and recently introduced legislation in the House expanding sanctions against North Korea and requiring that its designation as a state sponsor of terror be reinstated. Royce also supported the decision by the administration to sell $1.42 billion worth of arms to Taiwan, which he called “long overdue”.

Congressman Royce, a Republican, is a member of the US House of Representatives from California’s 39th district in northern Orange County.  Born in Los Angeles, Royce has a BA in Accounting and Finance from California State University, Fullerton, and was a business owner before becoming a California State Senator in 1983.  He was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1993.
